INSPIRATION

Maximo Ipe Set the gold standard for your exterior projects with Maximo Ipe, widely recognized as the finest decking material in the world and available at DesignOneSource. Often called Brazilian Walnut, Maximo Ipe is an ultra-dense, “iron-like” hardwood that boasts a Class A fire rating and unparalleled natural resistance to rot, abrasion, insects, and extreme weather. Its rich, dark brown color with hints of olive and black creates a luxurious, sophisticated aesthetic that elevates any residential or commercial property. Every board of Maximo Ipe is handpicked and kiln-dried to ensure architectural quality and stability, preventing the checking and movement often seen in lower-grade lumber. With a lifespan that can easily exceed 50 to 75 years, Ipe is the ultimate investment for low-maintenance, high-performance decking, siding, and outdoor structures. Its incredible hardness makes it nearly impervious to scratches and wear, ensuring it remains beautiful even in high-traffic areas. By specifying Maximo Ipe from DesignOneSource, you are choosing a material that defines durability, sustainability, and uncompromising luxury for the most demanding outdoor environments.

Beyond its unparalleled durability, Maximo Ipe offers incredible versatility in design. Its superior strength allows for wider spans and more creative architectural applications, from sleek, modern rainscreen siding to robust, heavy-duty boardwalks. The wood’s incredible density not only wards off physical damage but also makes it naturally resistant to splintering, providing a smooth and safe surface for barefoot traffic around pools and patios. Unlike softer woods or synthetic composites that can warp or sag under intense heat, Maximo Ipe remains dimensionally stable in all climates, from freezing northern winters to scorching tropical summers. This resilience makes it a preferred choice for architects looking to create enduring legacy projects that require minimal upkeep over decades of service.

Sustainability is also at the heart of the Maximo Ipe offering. Sourced from responsibly managed forests, this premium hardwood is available with FSC certification, ensuring that your choice supports environmentally sound forestry practices. While the initial investment may be higher than pressure-treated lumber or basic composites, the lifecycle cost of Maximo Ipe is remarkably low due to its sheer longevity and lack of need for chemical preservatives. Maintenance is simple; you can allow the wood to weather naturally to a distinguished, shimmering silver-grey patina, or apply a UV-protective hardwood oil periodically to maintain its original warm, chocolate-brown hues. Whether you are crafting a private rooftop oasis or a public commercial plaza, Maximo Ipe from DesignOneSource delivers a rare combination of natural beauty, extreme performance, and peace of mind that stands the test of time.
